What is Dance Theater?

This Dance theatre program is a unique form of dance performance that provides a new experience for dancers and audiences. 

Traditional dance typically focuses on technical skill and choreography, highlighting the dancers' physical abilities. Dance Theatre emphasizes emotional expression and storytelling, alongside strong dance technique. 

The fusion of dance and theatre allows performers to communicate meaningful messages through movement, creating a rich and immersive experience for viewers.  

 The nature of Dance Theatre encourages performers to explore new creative possibilities and push the boundaries of traditional dance.

Not only does this enhance young dancers' performance qualities but encourages them to think outside the box and experiment with different forms of expression. Stronger qualifications often emerge when dance-based artists engage beyond traditional dance.

It plays a vital role in the dance community by challenging the norms of traditional dance and exploring new avenues for creativity. This approach also encourages audiences to engage with dance in a more meaningful and thought-provoking manner.

Furthermore, dance theatre can provide a future collaboration among artists from various disciplines, such as actors, musicians, and other visual artists. Our Purpose

This program aims to provide top-quality learning experiences and performance opportunities for young artists, giving them more access to necessary guidance and training based solely on talent, regardless of financial background.

 

 High costs of private studios and schools can create barriers for young talent. The program seeks to alleviate these financial constraints and offer vital performance opportunities.

 

 While some public school arts programs exist, they sometimes fall short in providing the comprehensive training required for growth and excellence. This program can help.

 

Investing in experience and tailored training is needed to offer meaningful experiences to keep the arts vibrant. With 35 plus years of experience in dance and theater, I am dedicated to offering selected dance students additional instruction and impactful performance opportunities in local venues, without preventing other activities and classes.

 

This program is not meant to replace existing offerings; rather, it aims to nurture talent and provide additional experiences.. Quality training and mentorship will elevate the performing arts in our community.

The program encourages other activities as schedules allow. With years of experience in dance and theater, I possess the expertise necessary to deliver exceptional teaching and mentorship to dedicated individuals, irrespective of their financial circumstances. 

 

This initiative will enhance the performing arts, fostering a strong sense of commitment and facilitating long-term development.

 

 Drawing upon my extensive background in teaching and production, I will offer invaluable guidance and create new opportunities within the dance arts. I am passionate about advancing the growth of the arts in my community and am dedicated to making a meaningful contribution.

 

Philosophy and Approach

 My background in dance and theater forms the foundation of this program. I employ a direct and inspiring teaching and directing style that encourages individuals to confidently pursue new goals, with new camaraderie.

 

My focus is on positive mentoring, emphasizing the importance of commitment, discipline, and long-term growth. I believe this initiative will create new opportunities for the local community, enhancing the variety of available options and experiences. 

 

Program Structure

 

Selected dancers will have the opportunity to learn under my guidance, benefiting from my expertise in creating, directing, and producing techniques alongside my chosen successors and choreographers. The artists will gain valuable performance opportunities within the community. Driven by my passion for dance and theater, I aim to establish a Dance Theater program and welcome collaborators who support and share this vision.​

 

As funding allows each phase will be added - Phase II - young musicians, vocalists, and Phase III - Community Theater artists

 

Community Impact & Benefits

 

The impact on the community will give more options for the arts and their programs.  This program will add to and enhance current programs with additional training and limited or no costs.
